Capital Actuary

Reporting to the AECS Head of Risk, the Capital Actuary will support the capital team in the coordination and delivery of the worldwide regulatory and other capital requirements for AECS. The role will liaise closely with the Actuarial and Finance functions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the quantification and delivery of the capital requirements at AECS level for reporting purposes
• Prepare reports and presentations for the AECS Board, Group Committees and the Spanish Regulator
• Regular interaction with the Operational Risk area and provide the quarterly results of the main KPIs related to the AECS Solvency
• Assist with the production of the risk and capital analysis to support key decisions across the organisation e.g. new products, reinsurance strategy
• Guarantee the correct information to the AECS Board and Group Committees regarding the capital adequacy on the calculations performed
• Contribute to the effective application of the risk management system
• Assist in the capital plan process and ORSA process, quantifying the solvency projections for the different scenarios, working closely with the Actuarial and Finance functionsThe role will involve providing support and assistance to the other members of the capital modelling team to ensure their ongoing development of the team as a whole
• Support the finance team in the quantitative reporting to the local regulator providing the necessary information


Key Skills

• The ideal candidate is a graduate in Financial and Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Economics or Maths, with experience in activities related to Risk Management Function
• Desirable at least 6 years post qualification experience and at least 4 years of solid risk/actuarial work experience
• Experience in developing models for risk assessment/ORSA would be a plus
• It is desirable that the job holder has worked in at least 2 different countries in a risk role
• C1/C2 English
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Knowledge of insurance legislation, Solvency II and EIOPA reporting
• IFRS 17 knowledge would be appreciated
